MLA Noorul warns drug dealers

Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan has issued a strong warning against drug dealers to stop such anti-social activities if they do not want to face legal actions.
He was attending a felicitation function of meritorious students and players, who excelled in different events, held at Youth Voluntary Association (YOVA) ground on Sunday.
YOVA organised the event for students and players living in Kshetrigao Part 1 and Part 2 areas.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, the MLA commended the government for intensifying the War on Drugs mission upon realising the urgency in tacking impacts of drugs abuse.
As such he asked those involved in the trade to stop their anti-social activities and reiterated that stringent legal actions will be initiated against if they were found involved in such trades.
The MLA also asserted that there will be no compromise in the crackdown against drugs.
On the other hand, he encouraged the students and youth to focus on their career growth to become accomplished individuals in their lives.
They should also cultivate work culture, value time and promote good habits in their lives, he added.
Around 250 students and players were felicitated on the occasion, which also had a career counselling session conducted by social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram.
On Monday, the MLA also attended the 43rd foundation day of Youth Development Centre Club, Keirao Bitra as chief guest.
Bamon Kampu ZP member Golmei Kachungna, Keirao GP pradhan Kangabam Chourajit, ward members Ningthoujam Lata, Takhelchangbam Sushila and Sagolsem Baleshwar were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, MLA Noorul emphasised on the importance of education and sports in building a developed and healthy society.
Appreciating the roles of clubs towards the society, he encouraged the club members to continue their contribution in guiding youth.
Several cultural programmes were also organised as part of the event.
