AR dedicates toilet block, playground

Imphal, April 06 2022:
Sehlon battalion of IGAR(S) constructed a toilet block at Sehlon village, Chandel district and handed the same over to village authorities on Tuesday.
A release by PRO IGAR (S) said that toilet block was constructed under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme to serve as a common facility for the school, playground and community hall of the village.
It also informed that Sajik Tampak Battalion constructed a Football Ground in C-Kotlen village of Chandel District and handed it over to the village authorities on Tuesday.
To promote Khelo India initiative among locals, the football ground was prepared by Assam Rifles.
This effort lives up to the essence of Khelo India which aims to revive the sports culture in India at the grassroots level by building solid framework and encourage sportsmanship among the local youths, the PRO said, adding that sports kits were also distributed to the village authorities.
Meanwhile, Keithelmanbi Battalion organised a security coordination meet at Keithelmanbi Garrison in Imphal West on Wednesday.
In another release, the PRO said that the meet witnessed healthy participation of village representatives including village heads, secretary, ex-servicemen and youth.
The meet provided the platform for discussion on various career opportunities for the students in Defence Forces and in field of sports.
The locals were also sensitised and updated about the prevailing security situation in the area and encouraged them to align their efforts towards the common goal of peace and prosperity in the region.
