Joint Action Committee against the killing of Pukhrihongbam ongbi Wahengbam ningol Jasica alias Maimu Devi submitted a memorandum to the chief minister demanding justice to the deceased woman.
The memorandum signed by JAC convenor M Joykumar asserted that Pukhrihongbam Dineshwor, husband of the deceased woman, her father-in law and mother inlaw conspired and killed Jasica.
He urged the government to punish them according to the law of the land.
The JAC will not take the body until justice is delivered and will also continue the protest till the truth about the death is revealed, he asserted.
While demanding the government to punish all those involved in killing Jasica, he cautioned of launching more intense protest by joining hands with CSO and Meira Paibi if the government fails to fulfil the demands of the JAC.
The JAC also organised a sit-in protest at Lilong Cha-jing on Wednesday demanding proper investigation into the controversial death of Jasica.
Womenfolk of Khongjom Samaram Keithel Macha carried out the protest and demanded and no innocent persons should be framed or arrested.
It may be mentioned that Khongjom police had arrested Jasica's husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law in connection with woman's death.
