BJP celebrates, Biren hails party's ideology

Chief minister N Biren hailed the BJP's ideology of unity and nationalism and expressed happiness to be part of the organisation as the party celebrated its 42nd foundation day at Thambal Shanglen, Nityaipat Chuthek, here by hoisting the party flag on Wednesday.
CM Biren and BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda also led a rally to mark the occasion.
The rally was flagged off from the party's office and culminated at the same venue after passing through Governor Crossing, BT Road and Paona Keithel.
Education minister Y Khemchand, power minister Th Biswajit, industries minister Nemcha Kipgen, party MLAs and members also participated in the rally.
Speaking at the main event later, Biren recounted that the party was founded by visionary leaders like Deen Dayal Upadhyay, who worked for the poor and marginalised section of the society, and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who professed for maintaining Kashmir as an integral part of the country.
It is an honour to be part of this organisation, said the chief minister, who also contended that India became one of the global superpowers and a country respected by other nations after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014 .
While hastening to add that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee also worked for uniting the country, he said the party is working under the nationalist ideology professed by those late leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikash, Sabka Viswash and Sabka Prayas' slogan.
In her address, BJP state president A Sharda said that BJP is a party based on humanism and it does not discriminate among the people.
The party works to promote and protect the country with the slogan 'nation first' and it has been serving the people to bring equitable development and welfare.
As a result, people of the state are placing their trust on the party and at the same time, the party is upholding the trust by implementing ILP System and expanding AFSPA free zones of the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah.
She also sought blessings from the public so that the party's government could bring more development in the state.
On the other hand, chief minister N Biren refused to give any response to media persons on questions regarding cabinet expansion.
Meanwhile, in connection with the 42nd foundation day of BJP, which will continue till April 14, Thoubal district unit of the party released lotus-embossed BJP flags in the air at different parts of the district on Wednesday.
The district unit also commemorated the day at its office located at Khongjom, where district president Yumnam Kumarjit Singh inaugurated the event along with taking out a rally that concluded with a simple programme at the district office.
The celebration was also attended by Wangjing Tentha A/C MLA Paonam Brojen.
Speaking at the event, Yumnam Kumarjit informed that six mandals of Thoubal will also celebrate the foundation day till April 14 during which free health and social service camps would be organised among other programmes.
A similar celebration programme was also organised by Wangjing Tentha mandal at its office.
Floral tributes were also paid to the founders of BJP during the celebration.
As a part of the celebration the party's flag was hoisted at BJP Imphal East district office located at Kangla Sangomshang followed by a road show along Imphal-Ukhrul Road on Wednesday.
The foundation day programme was attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, district in-charge N Nimbus, distridt president P December, Andro AC MLA Th Shyamkumar, Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha, Khurai AC MLA L Susindro, wife of Susindro L Bembem and other members of BJP Imphal East.
Several activities which will be carried out in the district from Thursday include cleaning-up of ponds, visiting and distributing food items to children and old age homes, free health/eye/blood donation camps.
