Efforts are on to make India a self-sufficient energy production country, he maintained while conveying that relentless efforts are being made to reduce power consumption by using solar power.

Towards this end, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the ministry of Power had already launched national awareness campaigns on energy conservation.
"This kind of initiative will better understand the subject and help in nurturing innovative ideas to make India an energy sufficient nation," Ganesan expressed and exuded confidence that India will one day be able to supply energy to other countries.
The Governor continued that in order to create better appreciation and understanding of the need for energy conservation in the country, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power has already launched "National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation".
