PWF celebrates 6th b'day

Patriotic Writers' Forum (PWF), Manipur celebrated its 6th foundation day at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul here today.
The foundation day was attended by Padmashree Heisnam Kanhailal as Chief Guest and President of Patriotic Writers' Forum Prof Jodhachanda Sanasam as President, while President of Sahitya Seva Samiti, Kakching Yengkhom Dhananjoy attended as Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Padmashree Kanhailal said that words are the backbone of literature, and so is body language for drama.
The writers should strive to choose beautiful words to express themselves.
One of the problems faced by Manipuri litterateurs is using non-amalgamated language in their literary works, he noted.
Theatrical activities have receded in the State.
Drama artists are becoming scarce in the State, Kanhailal observed.
Delivering the presidential speech, Prof Jodhachandra Sanasam said that the Patriotic Writers' Forum has been doing something constructive for the society and literature, though not to a great extent.
The Forum is committed to work for the betterment of the future society and also uplift the literature of the State.
Yengkhom Dhananjoy maintained that the writers of the State should organize a mega conference to deliberate on the issue of using non-amalgamated language in the State.
The winners of various literary awards of the State, namely Sagolsem Indrakumar, Sanjenbam Bhanumati, Kshetrimayum Subadani, Moirangthem Rajen and Arambam were also honoured during the occasion.
