Contract lecturers to refrain from exam duty

The contract lecturers of Government higher secondary schools, who have been upgraded from part-time lecturers, have announced their decision of launching intense agitation from February 16 and refrain from examination duty of the ensuing HSLC and HS Examinations if their demand for regularization is not fulfilled by the State Government.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, member of the Association of All Manipur Government Higher Secondary School Contract Lecturers (Converted from Part-time Lecturers) A Domerendro said that the contract lecturers upgraded from part-time lecturers have been teaching relentlessly for more than 20 years in Government higher secondary schools across the State.
They are now facing many problems due to their service condition.
The Education Department has neglected them for quite a long time, he rued.
Domerendro announced that the teachers would launch intense agitation from February 16 and refrain from examination duty of HSLC and HS Examinations if the State Government does not fulfill their demand for regularization as soon as possible.
