Multilingual poetry meet held

Imphal, April 30 2022:
Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Cell and department of anthology, Manipur University observed Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) Day along with a multilingual poetry meet at the department on Saturday.
Manipur University has been observing Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Day on the last working day of every month since the past two years.
As a part of the observance and in sync with the celebration of India's Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a multilingual.
Kavi Samelan on nationalism was also conducted in which Dean of School of Humanities MU professor N Aruna, Director of College Development Council MU professor S Jibonkumar, head of department of English and Cultural Studies MU professor Th Ratankumar and head of department of Hindi MU professor H Subadani attended as the presidium members.
On the occasion, EBSB Cell, MU nodal officer MU Dr Ch Ibohal also highlighted the significance of observing EBSB Day in the University.
In the multilingual Kavi Samelan, 27 poets including dignitaries recited a total of 30 poems in Manipuri, Tangkhul, Mao, Thadou-Kuki, Hindi, English, Oriya, Tamil and Sinhala languages.
The participants included professors, officers, non-teaching staff, research scholars and students of the University.
All the participants were honoured with 'Lengyan' (stole) and certificate of honour.
The programme was conducted to promote different languages and share the diverse culture of the country and to contribute towards making India a strong and best country in the world.
