Imphal, September 10 2026: Unidentified persons suspected to be a member of an underground outfit fired upon a road opening party of the 152 Battalion CRPF this evening at around 5.30 along the Imphal-Dimapur highway.

The incident occurred at the Khonghampat area under Sekmai police station, Imphal West district.

No personnel were injured in the attack.

Sources said unknown armed persons opened fire at the personnel from inside a four wheeler car, which was travelling from Imphal side toward Sekmai.

The armed persons fled the spot after the attack.

Soon after the attack, Imphal West district police rushed to the spot and secured the incident site.

Sekmai police have registered a case for investigation.
