Slow Lorises, squirrel rescued

Imphal, April 30 2022:
Two Slow Lorises and a Giant Flying Squirrel were rescued from different parts of the state on Saturday.
One of the Slow Loris was rescued by a team of 46 Assam Rifles from a Churachandpur district area and the other by one Thokchom Michael of Kakching Kosantabi, who handed over the same to forest officials.
Both the animals have been handed over to volunteers of People for Animal and Unique Wildlife Committee, who released them into a forest in Yairipok area.
On the other hand, the Giant Flying Squirrel was found injured by one Elangbam Surchandra of Heirok handed it over to Heirok police.
PFA volunteers took custody of the wounded animal from police and handed it over to Iroishemba Zoological Garden Rescue Centre after giving first aid.
