Imphal, September 10 2026: State police and CRPF personnel today produced automatic weapons and other arms and ammunition seized from a camp of the Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) on September 7 before the Court of the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Imphal East.

The seized items, including seven automatic weapons, ammunition of different calibres, pompi guns and pompi bombs, were produced before the Court as exhibits.

It may be mentioned that on September 7, a joint team of Manipur police, CoBRA, CRPF, Mahila personnel and RAF personnel raided an unauthorised camp belonging to the KLA at Gampum village under Saikul Police Station in Kangpokpi district.

During the operation, eight cadres were apprehended and seven automatic weapons were recovered from the camp.

The arrested cadres were produced before the JMFC, Imphal East, on September 8 and remanded to custody till September 14 .

According to sources, the arrested KLA cadres have been identified as Thangmilan Vaiphei alias Voika of Mongkot Chepu; Ngamgoulal Khongsai of Saikul; Ngamgunhao Kipgen of Saikul; Thanggoulen Haokip of Molcham, Chandel district; Letkhohao Khongsai of Saikul village; Hennailal Khongsai of Nephai Leimakhong; Henjahao Khongsai of Jeljam, Churachandpur district; and one juvenile.
