Pension scheme cards distributed

Bishnupur District Social Welfare Department on Tuesday distributed the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme and Chief Minister Widow Pension Scheme cards to beneficiaries of Nambol assembly constituency in a function held at Nambol Bazar community hall.
In all, 312 early denizens received the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme cards while 132 widows were given the Chief Minister Widow Pension Scheme cards.
The cards distribution programme was attended by education, law and legislative affairs minister Th Basanta as chief guest and Social Welfare deputy director W Birahari Singh as functional president while Bishnupur District Social Welfare officer N Jotish Singh, Nambol Municipal Council executive officer Th Rabindra Singh, council's former chairperson Ch Basanta Singh, Utlou Gram Panchayat former pradhan N Sarat Singh, Sanjenbam-Pukhrambam Gram Panchayat former pradhan N Birjit Singh and Ishok Gram Panchayat former pradhan W Deven Singh were the guests of honour.
Addressing the gathering, minister Basanta affirmed that the state government is committed to deliver the benefits of welfare schemes to every citizen.
Pointing out that the people availing benefits from such schemes is a sign that the departments concerned are working with sincerity, the minister assured public welfare measures without any discrimination of the beneficiaries' political affiliation, if any.
While announcing that all pending works would be completed at the earliest, the minister reiterated that the state government will provide all the basic amenities to the public.
