Dried King Chilli exported to US for first time

Imphal, December 06 2022:
Horticulture and soil conservation minister Letpao Haokip flagged off a consignment of 6000 kg of dried organic King Chilli from Koirengei to the USA on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Letpao informed that the government is taking up different initiatives to improve the state's economy and promotion of organic products is one of them.
This is the first time the state is exporting dried organic King Chilli to the USA.
Nahakpam Foods & Beverages is marketing the produce under the Mis sion Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCD-NER) with support from Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), he said.
The minister also expressed delight on being able to export organic products of the state in the international market while terming it as a major success for farmers and entrepreneurs.
The minister called for more efforts to boost production and expand the market to more regions.
Additional chief secretary (horticulture and soil conservation) P Vaiphei, director Honey Chara, joint director K Debdutta Sharma and MOMA project officers also attended the flagging off ceremony.
