Sit-in demands abrogation of SoO

A sit-in demonstration was staged on Tuesday, demanding that the Suspension of Operation (SoO) signed between the banned outfits led by outsiders and the government be revoked immediately and instead, steps be taken up to make the outsiders return to their original countries.
Under the aegis of People's Alliance for Peace and Progress, Manipur (PAPPM); Young Pioneer Organisation, Yaiskul Voluntary Organisation, Rising Youth Organisation and Apunba Meira Paibi, Yaiskul jointly staged the sit-in protest at Yaiskul.
Speaking on the sidelines, Apunba Meira Paibi secretary K Jamuna urged the government to investigate and deport the outsiders hiding in Manipur, while highlighting concerns of the threat to the indigenous populace due to influx of outsiders.
The government must abrogate the SoO signed with outfits led by outsiders, she demanded and urged both the central and state governments to take note of he matter, while cautioning of launching intense agitations in case of failing to do so.
During the sit-in, the protestors held placards inscribed with slogans like "Government should take up steps to save Manipur", "Stop SoO with outfits led by foreign leaders", etc.
Mention may be made here that Kuki National Organisation (KNO) leader and chairman P Soyang Haokip is said to have been born at Melano, Sagaing division in Myanmar, as claimed by PAP-PM.
PAPPM also claimed that KNO spokesperson Dr Seilen Haokip is from outside Manipur and Zomi Revolutionary Organisation president Thanglen Pao is a Myanmarese.
PAPPM demanded the outfits led by the above be excluded from SoO.
