Dalit office opened, foundation laid for school

Along with laying the foundation stone for establishment of Manipur Dalit School in Senapati district, a new branch office of North East India Dalit Development Association (NEIDDA) has been opened at Kathikho Karong in Senapati on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, All India Dalit Development Association (AIDDA) president Dr TM Rajen Ayangba informed that the branch office of NEIDDA has been opened in Senapati district as part of its welfare activities taken up for the marginalised community.
In addition to opening a branch office, the foundation stone for setting up a Dalit School in Mani pur has also been laid where students from poor families will be provided free education.
Plans for setting up Dalit schools in other districts of the state are also in the pipeline.
He further informed that NEIDDA has been able to open branch offices in many districts of the state and will ensure expansion of the dalit's association in the remaining districts.
He also appealed to the people of the state particularly the marginalised community to support the organisation in exerting pressure on the state government for ensuring the basic rights of the Dalits.
