HC seeks CBI findings in Babysana case

All the reports submitted by the CBI after Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West passed an order on December 16, 2021 have been directed for submission to the High Court of Manipur.
A Criminal Miscellaneous Petition filed by one Ningthoujam Tomchou as applicant and Pheiroijam Ningol Karam Ongbi Romita and others in connection with the N Babysana death case as respondents was taken up by the court of chief justice Sanjay Kumar of the High Court on Tuesday.
The additional affidavit submitted by a respondent (No 2) on November 16 this year regarding the case was put on record.
Even though the order passed by CJM Imphal West on November 16, 2021 was approved on November 26 and given approval by relevant authority, the order was not made known to IO of the case till December 17 of the same year.
The IO of the case was replaced in January, 2022 and no officer was made IO of the case till the middle part of February, 2022.Though a new IO was appointed on March 9, 2022, there was no proper investigation.
Despite the directive of the CJM to determine blood group of the late minor girl from the bottle containing blood of the victim, CBI did not send further sample while insisting that FSL had given their opinion.
In sync with the CJM's directive in 2021, CBI filed several reports but none of the reports were mentioned in the record.
At the end of the hearing on Tuesday, the court of chief justice Sanjay Kumar ordered that all the reports filed by the CBI to CJM Imphal West be tabled before the court and fixed January 10, 2023 for next hearing of the case.
