Fishery, forest institute at Utlou and Ishok soon

Former union minister Th Chaoba, who is also the chairman of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Institute of Agriculture Science, Utlou, has revealed that an institute of fishery and forestry would be established at Utlou and Ishok.
Delivering the presidential speech at the fresher's meet celebration of the institute held at its auditorium on Sunday, Chaoba informed that the fishery institute would be constructed in a land plot of 10 paris area available with the Utlou Joint Pisciculture Cooperative Society while another one would be constructed at any suitable site of Ishok and the foundation stone would be laid in the month of January 2023.Chaoba, while pointing out that very few Manipuris are able to get seats in the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Iroisemba, said that there is the need to establish a horticulture institute in the hills.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, Manipur University registrar Prof W Chandrababu commended progress made by the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Institute of Agriculture Sciences within short period of time.
The function was also attended by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Institute of Agriculture Sciences, Utlou director Prof RK Imotomba Singh, who delivered the key note address.
