Minorities Rights Day 2022 : Sheikh Noorul Hassan calls for intercommunity harmony, peace

Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan has urged people to become model citizens and inculcate bonds of brotherhood.
The MLA made the statement during the observation of Minorities Rights Day, 2022 held at the multipurpose hall of Maharaja Bodhachandra College located at Palace Compound today.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Noorul Hassan stated that India is akin to a 'garden' as it is a diverse, multi-religious, multicultural country.
There is a need for the religious and linguistic minorities to learn about the rights they have, benefits under central and State schemes and their duties, responsibilities as law-abiding citizens of India, the MLA opined.

The MLA then emphasized on the importance of different communities in Manipur to maintain cordial relations while adding that the Chief Minister N Biren Singh led Government is also making efforts to establish a peaceful, harmonious environment between the different communities.
Addressing the gathering Sadik, general secretary, MSA, stated that many civil society organisations and students organisations have continuously fought against the oppression and violation of human rights of religious and linguistic minorities.
Today's function was organised to ensure that these communities receive support from the Government to eliminate the various issues faced by these communities, Sadik said.
The event organised by Minorities Students' Association (MSA) was attended by Md Usman Gani DP, president, MSA; Abdullah Phundreimayum, Advisor, MMWO; Dr.Lamtinthang Haokip, social activist and Sazad Bhuiyamayum, social activist as presidium members.
