Imphal, December 18 2022:
All Manipur Health Services Doctors' Association (AMHSDA) has called for a total closure of OPD and emergency services under Manipur Health Services on Monday.
Informing this, a statement of AMHSDA said that they are simply demanding their basic and fundamental rights for time bound/scale promotion, extension of superannuation age to 65 years, NPA fixation with effect from January 1, 2016 as per the 7th CPC and amendment of the outdated Manipur Health Services Rules 1982.It informed that following request from the government, they reduced the charter of demands to only four from the previous eight.
However, the government has been ignoring their demands for nearly two years.
It stated that MCS and MPS officers are getting promotion every four years while doctors under MHS are not getting any promotion even after serving for three decades.
JNIMS doctors, who are also under the state government, have had their superannuation age extended up to 65 years and NPA granted as per the 7th CPC while the doctors under MHS are being denied of the same facilities, the statement said.
Informing that they have been carrying out different forms of agitation like donning black badge, peaceful and democratic sit-in protests, relay hunger strike and one-day mass casual leave, the statement appealed to the people of the state to bear with the inconvenience they would face due to Monday's strike while understanding the situation of the doctors.
