Imphal, August 23 2013 :
Perturbed at the Indo-Myanmar border issues at Moreh with regard to "faulty" border fencing and land encroachment by Myanmarese Army for construction of a Platoon Base Camp at Haolenphai village, United Committee Manipur (UCM) is all set to organize a public seminar on border issues on September 1 next.
According to a statement of UCM, the Indian Government and Manipur Government are least concerned about the border issues in the State.
India even declared "Kargil War" when the Pakistani troops crossed the Line of Control (LOC) at Jammu and Kashmir, the Home Ministry officials also flew to Arunachal Pradesh in a special airline to inspect the border issues with China.
However, the Government has remained indifferent to the border issues of Manipur even if the Myanmarese Army has begun to set up their base camp within the territory of Manipur at Haolenphai Village near disputed Border Pillar No.76 at Moreh.
The people of Manipur would not remain silent if the Central and State Government go on ignoring the border issues.
The people are committed to protect the territorial integrity of the State at all costs, it said.
