Imphal, August 23 2013 :
The murder case of van driver Okram Gyanendro is being investigated intensively but no clues can be gathered so far, said Imphal West SP Konsam Jayenta.
Replying to queries put up by media persons during a press meet held at Imphal West District Police headquarters today in connection with the arrest of a PREPAK (Pro) cadre involved in multiple bomb blasts recently, Jayenta appealed to the people to calm down rather than raising an uproar.
The SP said that the electronic circuit boards used in assembling IEDs which were found fitted in toy cars found inside Gyanendro's van were similar to the ones seized from the arrested PREPAK (Pro) cadre.
This does not imply Gyanendro was connected with UG groups and it is not clear whether Gyanendro brought the electronic circuit boards or not.
Meanwhile, police have identified some accused involved in the murder of Chilly Ginger Fast Food Cum Mocktail Bar manager Nongthombam Shyamjai (33) of Mantripukhri Lamlongei.
Shyamjai was found dead inside his bar at Loklaobung in the night of August 16 .
Saying that police have been searching for the accused, the SP maintained that it would be premature to disclose identity and other details of the accused.
Police are also searching for the man accused of raping a disabled woman at Khoyathong on July 26 .
With the accused already absconding, police have started due process to declare the accused as a proclaimed offender, Jayenta said.
