State to take up plot controversy with Defence Ministry

Education Minister M Okendro today stated that the State Government would take up the controversies surrounding the ownership of Manipur Public School plot with the Defence Ministry in order to work out a solution.
He was speaking at the annual prize distribution function of Manipur Public School.
Claiming that the Chief Minister is concerned with the welfare of Manipur Public School, Okendro said that the Government has been working to manage Manipur Public School in the most efficient manner.
Noting that teachers of the school are paid salaries in the scale of 5th Pay even as other Government employees are being paid in the scale of 6th Pay, the Education Minister informed that the Government has been working to give 6th Pay scale to teachers of Manipur Public School too.
Manipur Public School Society secretary K Moses Chalai, Manipur Public School Parents' Association president M Manigopal and Principal S Premabati were also present at the prize distribution function as presidium members.
Meritorious students of the school who scored outstanding marks in class XI and XII exams conducted by AISSCE and CBSE and toppers in Science, Arts and Commerce streams were felicitated at the function.
The Krsihnakumar Memorial Meritorious Award instituted in the name of the school's former student Krishnakumar was conferred to Tamyo Y Shimray (class XII), L Tuturani (class X) and Robertson (class XI) .
