Accused in CM's gate blast held

One PREPAK (Pro) cadre reportedly involved in triggering bomb blasts at the gate of the Chief Minister's bungalow and inside Route 39 Restaurant has been apprehended by Imphal West commandos.
Briefing media persons at Imphal West District Police headquarters today, SP Konsam Jayenta said that police have been trailing the clues of the multiple bomb blasts which occurred before and after the Independence Day.
In the course of the investigation, police conducted search operation around Lilong Chajing Higher Secondary School last afternoon and nabbed one cadre of PREPAK (Pro) .
Identifying the arrested cadre as one Naoroibam Joyshankar alias Loyumba alias Bungocha alias John (27) s/o Inaocha of Khurai Lairikyengbam Leikai, SP Jayenta said that Joyshankar bears army no 39914 and belongs to PREPAK (Pro)'s 39th batch (2009) .

He was working under the direct command of the outfit's Chairman Longjam Subhash alias Paliba alias Loken (57) s/o Lupakumar of Khoyathong.
It was under the direct command of the Chairman that Joyshankar alias Loyumba alias John triggered IED blasts at the gate of the CM's bungalow at 6.25 pm of August 10 and inside Route 39 Restaurant, Mantripukhri at 6.30 pm of August 17, said the SP.
Acting on Loyumba's disclosure, police have seized a number of explosive components.
Two numbers of charged demolition (explosive cakes), two IED circuits, two packets of steel balls, four battery cells, three electronic detonators, three numbers of motorcycle signal lamps, five bulbs and a remote control device have been seized.
In addition, a pair scissors, one screw driver, wires, one mobile phone handset and one Yamaha F2 motorcycle have also been recovered from the possession of Loyumba.
Loyumba and John was also instructed to trigger bomb blasts at some other places.
This was revealed during preliminary investigation and further investigation is on, informed SP Jayenta.
