Imphal, August 23 2013 :
Even as the 13 hour general strike called in protest against the murder of van driver Okram Gyanendro ended this evening, an indefinite bandh has been called in continuation of the same protest movement.
Meanwhile, family members have decided to claim the corpse of Gyanendro tomorrow in order to perform the last rites.
The JAC constituted against the murder of Gyanendro decided to call an indefinite bandh as the State Government has failed to book the murderers even after a general strike was called urging for arrest of the culprits.
Meanwhile, a police team came to Gyanendro's home today and informed his wife that the corpse would be disposed off as an unclaimed body if it is not claimed by 12 noon of August 24 .
Compelled by this information, Gyanendro's wife Shanti appealed to the JAC as well as the van association to help the family claim the corpse so that they can perform the last rites of Gyanendro.
