Man behind bombing of CM gate, Route-39 in police net

Imphal West District Police Commandos have arrested a hardcore activist of the proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-Progressive (PREAPAK-Pro), who was involved in the recent explosion at the western gate of the Chief Minister's bungalow here and bombing of the Route 39 restaurant at Mantripukhri.
A large quantity of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the possession of the arrested activist identified as Naoroibam Joyshankar alias Loiyumba alias Bungochou (27) of Khurai Lairikyengbam Makha Leikai in Imphal East district was apprehended by a team of Imphal West police commandos at Lilong Chajing near Lilong Higher Secondary School in Thoubal district around 5:43 pm yesterday.
Parading the arrested PREPAK (Pro) activist along with the seizures before media persons at the conference hall of SP of Imphal West district here today, SP K Jayanta informed that Joyshanker belongs to 39th batch (2009) of PREPAK-Pro and works for the outfit under the command of one Longjam Subash alias Paliba (57) of Thangmeiband Polem Leikai, Imphal West, who is the self-styled chairman of the outfit.
The Police officer further informed that Joyshankar was involved in detonating an IED near the western gate of Chief Minister O Ibobi's bungalow in the evening of August 10 as well as in the bombing of Route 39 restaurant, Mantripukhri in Imphal East district on August 17 this year.
All these subversive activities have been carried out at the instruction of Paliba.
One remote control device, two charge demolitions marked as LOTLOP81B008002 (explosive cakes), two IED circuits, four battery cells, three electronic detonators, two packets of steel ball bearings, one Yamaha motor cycle FZ, three motor cycle signal lights along with five bulbs, one pair of scissors, one screw driver, one long wire and one switch were also seized from his residence, the SP added.
The SP claimed Joykishan was assigned to carry out more blasts at some important Government installations with the seized items.
