The Letgoulen (Goulen) Memorial Sadar Hills Division I football league 2013 organised by Sadar Hills District Sports Association got underway from today at Brig.
Thomas Ground with Sadar Hills ADC chairman Haokholal Hangshing gracing the league inauguration programme as the chief guest.
The League is sponsored by the Letgoulen (Goulen) family.
FC Zalen started its campaign in an emphatic fashion by crushing Langkhong Youth Club 6-0 while FC Ngailai edged past Somphung Youth Club 1-0 in the second match.
According to the organising committee the K Hangshing Memorial Sadar Hills Super Division League will commence from August 28 at the same venue.
Bishnupur: AKSA, Kwakta outplayed TYA, Thinun-gei 4-1 in a Group B match of the 3rd Y Tejkumar Memorial Division I (Bpr) football league tournament at Bishnupur Mini stadium with Piter (15th, 45th), Islamuddin (29th) and Bikram (62nd) providing the Kwakta goals and Romio finding the TYA consolation goal in the 27th minute.
At the same venue, goals from Joshi (1st), Abothe (2nd), Joila (20th, 36th) and Chunggulung (50th) helped CRESA, Bpr crush MP-II YA, Moirang 5-1 with Romen scoring for the losing side in the 28th minute in a Group-B match.
In Group A, NGKSA (Ngaikhong) and UKCCL, Oinam played out a 1-1 draw.
The Oinam side took the lead at the half hour mark through an own goal by Malangba with the advantage lasting till the 57th minute when Naoba restored parity for the rivals.
Thoubal: Souya, Heirok humbled CSWC, Chandra-khong 5-1 in a Group B match of the Thoubal District Division II football league tournament played today at Kshetri Leikai Playground while HISU, Thoubal rallied to beat HKKSA, Thoubal Haokha 2-1 in another group match.
Even though Boby provided the SOUYA breakthrough only five minutes into the game it was Mangwer who starred in the Heirok victory with four goals (8th, 20th, 42nd, 67th).Ronaldo pulled back one for CSWC at the hour mark.
The later match saw Singhajit put HKKSA ahead in the 24th minute but HISU came back strongly to script the win riding on goals from Sureshkumar (32nd) and Suraj (48th) .
