KSDC spreads out its movement

Kukis in Manipur have intensified their statehood demand movement by spreading out their programmes to various parts of the North East India region.
Apart from participating in the ongoing indefinite hunger strike underway at Kokrajhar in Assam jointly carried out by the Bodos and leaders of the Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) demanding the creations of Bodoland in Assam and Kuki state in Manipur, series of consultative meetings involving Kuki intellectuals, Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) leaders, Kuki scholars and student leaders will be organised in Guwahati, Shillong and Churachandpur (south Manipur) in the coming days.
The Kuki State Demand Committee(KSDC) and some social organisations based in Guwahati and Shillong will be organizing a one-day consultative meeting at Guwahati on August 25 and another such programme at Shillong on August 26 with leaders of Kuki Welfare Association, Kuko Students Organisation (KSO-Guwahati), research scholars and students of Guwahati and kuki Inpi (Meghalya), KSO-Meghalya), Kuki Welfare Association, research scholars and Kuki students of Shillong on the theme "The Current Political Scenario of the Kukis in Manipur" .
In all the consultative meetings, KSDC will be represented by its chairman Hejang Haokip and its secretary K.Gangte, apart of the indefinite hunger strike launched at Krokrajhar in Assam for creations of Bodoland in Assam and Kuki State in Manipur since August 22 .
In Churachandpur at KIC Complex, a one-day consultative meeting on the current political scenario of the Kukis in Manipur will held on August 24 under the aegis of a human rights group, the NGO based in Manipur, according to KSDC leader George Guite.
In this consultative meeting, KSDC information secretary S.George Guite will present a paper on history of the 'kuki home-land movement and ideology and strategies of kuki State movement.' Social organisations leaders will also present papers on various issues pertaining to Kukis in Manipur.
"The KSDC in collaboration with the people and civil organizations will continue consultative meetings to sensitize and give awareness to the masses for the present 'Kuki State Movement' in Manipur," the KSDC said today.
