CM Biren promises to develop Tamenglong at any cost

Tamenglong, September 22 2021:
Giving impetus to the state government's community outreach programme to bring all round development in hills and valley, chief minister N Biren inaugurated Oxygen Plant, additional 50-bedded hospital and Tamenglong Natural Football ground during a function held at Tamenglong district headquarters on Wednesday.
After landing at Tamenglong helipad at 10:15 am, the CM went straight to the District Hospital at Duigailong and inaugurated the PSA Oxygen Plant which was constructed with Rs 3.6 crore funding under the Tribal Affairs & Hills and 50-bedded (additional) constructed at an estimated project cost Rs 4 crore under the Health Department.
At lower ground, the CM inaugurated the Natural Football Ground developed under the Department of Minority Affairs at an estimated project cost of Rs 3.30 crore and also played in a friendly football match between Tamenglong's Team and CM's Team.
Altogether 32 projects for Tamenglong and Noney districts were also inaugurated virtually, out of which 28 are completed while for the remaining 4 projects, foundation was laid by the chief minister.
The government's aims and objectives are to bring equal development to all including economically backward people, women and youth to usher in progressive development in the state, CM Biren said during the inaugural event.
"99 percent of the development work in Tamenglong is in full swing and let us co-operate with the government in achieving this goal," he added.
The chief minister also announced that Tamenglong district has been selected to set up health and wellness centres all of which will be provided with uninterrupted power supply by means of solar energy to facilitate efficient service to any emergency health-related cases.
"Health for all" scheme will also be launched by first week of October for the people of Tamenglong and Noney districts under which health workers will visit homes to conduct check-ups such as BP hypertension, sugar, blood test and even serious health problems like cancer and heart test so that everybody lives a healthy life, Biren said, adding that a medicine which costs Rs 500 at the market can be purchased at Rs 50 for minors under the PM Modi health scheme 'Jan Aushadhi'.
"I'm really proud to see the land of Tamenglong district covering with forest.
The main reason of visiting Tamenglong is to bring development and infrastructural improvement for the people of Tamenglong," stated the CM.
The chief minister expressed his admiration for the people of the district, stating that they had scripted history across India by not claiming compensation for construction of road and donated their lands for development projects, adding, "For this reason I promise to develop Tamenglong at any cost." During his visit, CM Biren also handed over a sanctioned order of Rs 3 crore to build a Joint Tribe Council Mini Secretariat at Tamenglong district headquarters.
He also declared Kaimai Railway Station as Rani Gaidinliu Railways Station and promised to the gathering that Rani Gaidinliu museum will be built at her birthplace.
The CM also expressed his happiness over the news about Tamenglong oranges getting GI-Tag.
Tissue culture for the oranges of Tamenglong is also in the pipeline and under the Central Agricultural University Rs 2.20 crore has been sanctioned to preserve and promote the orange of Tamenglong, Biren informed.
He then asked the people gathered to inform him of delay in taking up projects in their respective areas so that the government can perform the work diligently and dedicate them to the people.
The chief minister further announced that the shortest road from Tamenglong to Thingou railway station will be constructed at the earliest and under the backward development fund Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned for uplift of Zeme tribe of Tamenglong district.
During his visit, CM Biren and his colleagues also distributed various materials, machineries, CMHT cards, fingerlings, smart phones to college students, handloom manual machines to 1182 select beneficiaries under various schemes of horticulture, agriculture, tribal affairs, fishery, social welfare and health departments.
Forest minister Awangbow Newmai, who is also the minister in-charge of Tamenglong and Noney districts, said that construction of the 50 years long awaited Tamenglong-Halflong and Tousem road has already started and "so let us acknowledge and appreciate the work done by the people's chief minister N Biren Singh".
During the programme, materials required in weaving were provided to weavers of Tamenglong district.
The weaving materials were provided by department of handloom and textiles under its Implementation of Handloom for Employment Generation project.
The materials include loom, accessories and yarn.
Agriculture minister 0 Lukhoi handed over the materials to weavers as part of the government's community outreach programme.
Ministers Thongam Biswajit, S Rajen Singh, Vungzagin Valte and Oinam Lukhoi, as well as Dr Sapam Ranjan advisor (health) to CM arid Naihsinrei Panmei, caretaker chairman of ADC Tamenglong, attended the inauguration programme as guests of honour.
Tke district administration in coordination with Joint Tribes Council, Tamenglong received the CM and his team along with more than 4000 people who gathered for the occasion.
