Assam Rifles seizes smuggled goods

Imphal, September 22 2021:
Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (South) foiled cross-border smuggling of Chinese origin goods in Tengnoupal district on Wednesday.
According to PRO IGAR (South), AR troops observed movement of three individuals carrying bags near Kwatha village under suspicious circumstances during an area domination operation.
On seeing the troops approaching, the individuals escaped into the jungle leaving behind the bags which were found loaded with Chinese origin cigarettes, mosquito coils, cosmetics and textile items worth Rs 9.30 lakh.
The recovered items were handed over to Customs Preventive Force (CPF) Moreh for further investigation, the release said.
