Imphal, September 22 2021:
In view of the letter sent to government college principals by Directorate of Higher Education demanding to furnish the number of teachers who would like to opt for absorption under Dhanamanjuri (DM) University, Ad-hoc Committee of the constituent colleges of the varsity has resolved to closely monitor the situation.
In a release, convenor Dr L Rajen informed that an emergency meeting of the ad-hoc committee was held at DM College of Arts on Wednesday to discuss the letter of the directorate.
Acting on the letter, a preliminary survey on the possible number of teachers in government colleges of Manipur opting for absorption under Dhanamanjuri University has been initiated.
He reminded that the Committee has been demanding absorption of the existing teachers (including the principals and the regular utilized teachers) of the five constituent colleges of DMU before any process for fresh recruitment of facilities for DMU and also that the absorption of the existing teachers may be settled relatively ahead of that of teachers from other colleges under Directorate of University & Higher Education in case (if any) such an opportunity is extended to them.
The members unanimously resolved to immediately initiate an appropriate course of action as compelled by any subsequent developments in this regard which might run contrary to the demands of the Ad-hoc Committee, Rajen added.
