Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has been expelled from the Manipur Democratic Alliance (MDA), announced M Tombi, today.
M Tombi, who is the convenor of MDA, also stated that they won't have any pre-poll alliance with the BJP or the Congress for the 2022 Assembly elections.
Speaking to media persons, M Tombi continued that the NCP was removed for taking a decision that is against the principle of the MDA.
Stating that the ongoing 11-day protest of the Opposition parties that demands intensification of Covid vaccination drive and others only aims at creating issues, he added that giving suggestions to the Government would be more effective in managing the Covid pandemic instead of staging a protest.
The Opposition must raise its voice only in the interest of the people and at the same time should acknowledge the good initiative of the Government, he said.
The MDA won't make pre-poll alliance with the BJP or Congress, he reiterated and added that they will contest the forthcoming Assembly election under a common minimum programme of all its alliance partners.
