Imphal, September 22 2021:
Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation, Manipur (RNYOM) and Rongmei Naga Students' Organisation (RNSO) have denounced the joint statement issued purportedly on Tuesday by RNYOM president Namgakdai Nicholas Gonmei and RNSO vice president Gaan Rongmei announcing cancellation of the boycott call and appealing to the people to cooperate to the 'Go to Hills 2.0' programme of the chief minister held on Wednesday.
In a joint release, RNYOM general secretary A Ripuilan Pamei and RNSO general secretary Phillip Rongmei along with other functionaries asserted that the joint statement was totally against the aspiration of the hill people and principle of RNYOM and its federate organisations.
No meeting or consultation for such decision was held/done in any manner or form.
Therefore, it is informed to all the concerned that the said joint statement was contradictory to the principle of the organisation and against the interest of the whole tribal community, it declared.
The release further mentioned that a proper and befitting action against the erring leaders will shortly be initiated in the interest of the community and for safeguarding the constitutional prestige of the organisation.
