State logs four deaths, 49 new cases

Imphal, February 20 2022:
The state on Sunday reported only 49 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1240 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering positivity rate of 3.95 per cent against 4.16 per cent recorded on Saturday.
However, Sunday reported four more death cases, as on Saturday, which took the toll to 2100 .
The latest victims were residents of Imphal West (1), Imphal East (2), and Churachandpur (1) districts.
One of them had received second dose of Covid vaccine while the other three were unvaccinated.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 184 vaccinated people of which 56 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 69 patients were discharged from home isolation (45), RIMS (9), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (12) .
The active case came down to 659 out of which 345 (52.35 percent) are in home isolation.
There are 264 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 121 in RIMS.
Out of the 16 districts, six did not report any fresh Covid cases on Sunday.
So far, the state has recorded 10,645 positive cases and 98 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 3177 new positive cases and 54 fatalities.
According to official reports, all the 49 fresh cases (24 male & 25 female) are from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (5) and other testing centres (44) .
They are from Imphal East (9), Imphal West (21), Thoubal 2), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (4), Tengnoupal (1), Ukhrul (3), Noney (1) and Churachandpur (4).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,433 .
Number of recovered cases is 1,33,674 (general population - 1,28,700 and CAPF personnel - 4,974) and number of active cases is 659 (general population - 639 and CAPF personnel - 20) .
The recovery rate is 97.98 per cent.
A total of 336 D-type and 85 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 5729 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 14,98,338, out of which 11,13,550 have received the second dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,492), Imphal East (30,285), Thoubal (10,104), Churachandpur (11,021), Kangpokpi (3114), Tamenglong (3460), Bishnupur (9776), Senapati (2468), Ukhrul (3237), Kakching (6851), Chandel (2682), Noney (1149), Tengnoupal (1188), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1032) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (700), Imphal East (505), Thoubal (187), Churachandpur (167), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (16), Bishnupur (204), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,968 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,540 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,04,033 tests per million population against the national average of 5,41,532 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.54 per cent and cumulative positivity to 8.71 per cent.
