Meeyamgi Numit, Hill Leaders' Day held in Kamjong

Kamjong, July 22 2022:
District administration of Kamjong organised the District Hill Leaders' Day & Meeyamgi Numit at the Town Hall in district headquarters on Friday which was attended by hundreds of people while a total of 29 departments opened stalls to cater to the various demands and grievances of the public.
Among others, Kamjong deputy commissioner Rangnamei Rang Peter and SP P Manjit attended the event and advised the district level officials to ensure expeditious settlement of grievances of the denizens.
Speaking at the programme, DC Peter stressed on the importance of the event, especially in a remote district like Kamjong, where public face inconveniences, to extend benefits of the government sponsored schemes.
As all the departments working in the district have come under one roof on this day to address the grievances and to deliver services to the public, everyone should take maximum utilisation of such an opportune event, he said and conveyed gratitude to the government led by chief minister N Biren for organising such a programme from time to time.
The DC further appealed to all to attend such special event without fail, and added that the next Meeyamgi Numit will be held at the sub-divisional level on a rotation basis.
Many written applications and grievances related to CMHT, Social Welfare-related schemes and Agriculture were received during the programme which began from 10 am .
Speaking to the officials of District Information Office (DIO) Kamjong, one Thangmila (70) of Bungpa Khullen, confided that she attended the Meeyamgi Numit to enquire about possible welfare schemes available for her
pregnant daughter-in-law and also to avail Old-Age Pension scheme for herself.
She expressed gratitude to the District Administration for organising such a programme and also expressed her wish to
hold such programmes regularly and frequently.
AS Kathing (60) of Rushaah village under Sahampung sub-division, who visited the health stall put up by the CMO, suggested that the programme be organised block-wise throughout the district for better participation of public belonging to nook and corner of the district.
Sharing his experience of the day, he said that he benefitted a lot from his visit today.
With the recent escalation of Covid cases in Manipur, the District Administration Kamjong followed Covid protocols strictly by making sure that everyone wore masks, maintained safe distance and
used sanitisers.
Drinking water facility was also provided and separate toilet facilities for ladies and gents were also kept.
It may be mentioned that Meeyamgi Numit is a service platform to address the grievances of people initiated by the chief minister on May 15, 2017 .
It will be held every fourth Friday for Kamjong district, and if the 4th Friday happens to be a general holiday, then it will be held on the previous working day.
