Trust honours Saikot AC meritorious students

To motivate the student community within Saikot assembly constituency, the TN Haokip Foundation Trust on Friday distributed the annual TN Haokip Meritorious Award 2022 at Bijang community hall with the former Saikot MLA personally handing over the awards.
Churachandpur DC Sharath Chandra Arroju, Salt Brook School principal M Vanlallien Haokip and Seikhohao Haokip of Ultimate Coaching Institute,
attended the event as chief guest, guest of honour and special guest respectively while KBC pastor Rev Onkho Haokip prayed for the award recipients.
This year, a student of Sielmat Christian High School, Wendy Lawm Nunsiem of Zomi Colony bagged the allround topper award while St Mary's Alphonsa Hoiching Mate of SL Chavangphai received the award for mathematics and Salt Brook's Obed Demgoulen of S Kanan Veng received the science subject award.
With cent per cent pass record in the recently announced HSLC results, Salt Brook School, Laizong Veng was declared 'School of the Year' .
The all-round topper award includes cash reward of Rs 30,000 and a citation, while Rs 20,000 each and citation were awarded to subject toppers.
Salt Brook School received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a citation.
Speaking on the occassion, DC Sarath Chandra Arroju, a doctor himself, informed that he was delighted to see most of the awardees want to become doctors.
He exhorted the students to choose the subject of their own interest and appealed to them to strive honestly to achieve their desired goals.
In his address, TN Haokip said that the main aim of the foundation is to value education.
"As students are our future pillar, we must motivate them and guide them in a proper way to ensure that they are motivated in their educational journey," he added.
