Wung Theological College inaugurated at Ukhrul

Tangkhul community to mark 125 years of Christianity dedicated the newly constructed Wung Theological College to the Almighty God by invoking ceremonial blessing at TBCA Mi sion Compound, Ukhrul.
Rev Dr Mathotmi Vasha, executive secretary Tangkhul Baptist Churches Association (TBCA) on Friday declared the theological college open in the presence of the Board of Governors, pastors and Tangkhul religious leaders.
The inaugural ceremony began with a prayer by Rev ZaHei Kaping, pastor PBC and lighting of candles by Board of Governors WTC.
The inaugural plaque was unvieled by Rev Aping Khamrang, president TBCA.
Speaking on the occasion, Rev Dr YL Mingthing, chairman Board of Governors WTC informed that the first Tangkhul vernacular Bible school was established in 1950 .
"The school has played an important role in imparting both secular and religious education in our society", he added.
Rev Dr Vasha stated that the theological college will offer the Bachelor of Theology (B.Th) and Master in Divinity (M.Div) courses, and application forms will be issued from 1 st week of September for the current academic session.
"Refreshers' course for pastors and short term for those working professionals will also be offered in the college", said Dr Vasha while adding that TBCA will provide assistance in availing sponsorship for economically backward students.
Rev Khayaipam Khamrang spoke on teaching methodology and spiritual
formation.
Phungyo Choir and Chungsangla Jajo performed gospel songs at the event.
