SBI organises night camp with farmers

State Bank of India (SBI) Regional Business Office, Imphal organised a night camp with farmers at Langmeidong Bazar community hall on Friday and interacted with farmers of the area.
The programme was attended by Hiyanglam MLA Yumnam Radheshyam as chief guest and SBI Regional Business Office Imphal regional manager Hepuni Bismarck as president while Kakching Zilla Parishad member Chongtham
Indrajit, Wabagai ZP member Mayengbam Jayentakumar, Waikhong GP pradhan Wangkhem Brojen and Wabagai GP pradhan Yumnam Hemchand were present as guests of honour.
SBI Regional Business Office, Imphal distributed awards to HSLC Exam 2022 3rd position holder Menaka Huidrom, 17th position Shamjetshabam Rishikesh Singh, 25th position Yumnam Yaiphaba and Higher Secondary Exam 2022, science stream 13th position holder Oinam Dharmajit as an encouragement; five archery target boards to Kakching District Archery Association and simple gifts to 17 loanees, who repaid loan to SBI Kakching branch timely.
In his speech, MLA Y Radheshyam said that despite the numerous benefits and loans given by the bank, people fail to avail such benefits as they are not aware of it.
As such, he urged the bank officials to conduct awareness programme for the people about the various loans and benefits and further exhorted to take up initiatives so as to mitigate the problems faced by people while trying to take loan.
Moreover, loanees should have the habit of repaying to the banks in time, he added.
Hepuni Bismarck said that the doors of the bank are wide open to help the people and farmers in times of their need
and urged the people to avail benefits of several schemes of the government from different banks.
While maintaining that a survey will be conducted in Hiyanglam to check whether bank can be set up in Wabagai Keithel and Langmeidong, Bismarck assured that he will try to install an ATM booth in Langmeidong and will also organise financial literacy programme.
