Kakching, July 22 2022:
All Kakching Students' Union (AKSU) has raised objection against the selection list for admission to TG Higher Secondary School issued by the school authority alleging that the school authority flouted reservation norms for Scheduled Caste students.
In a statement, AKSU said that similar issue had cropped up during admission to Manipur University in the past and now the same issue is happening in TG Higher Secondary School by selecting only five students in Arts and four in Science streams out of 400 and 300 seats respectively.
Separate lists for direct admission, entrance test and reservation were
issued by the school authority.
Surprisingly, SC students, who got high marks in the entrance test, were put in the reserved category instead of in the general category as per existing reservation norms,
the statement said.
It then drew attention of the education minister, commissioner, director and officials concerned to look into the matter and take up necessary corrective steps to deliver justice
to SC students.
He also warned of launching agitation if the government ignores the matter.
