Victory of Droupadi Murmu celebrated across state

Imphal, July 22 2022:
BJP Manipur Pradesh continues to celebrate the victory of NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu in the 15th presidential election with similar celebration events also held in Senapati and Churachandpur districts on Friday.
Soon after declaration of the election result on Thursday evening, chief minister N Biren led party leaders in a victory march from the western gate of Kangla to different parts of Imphal city while BJP state unit president A Sharda joined the victory celebration at Ramji Khun.
Celebration in tribal villages of the state continued on Friday.
Congratulating Droupadi Murmu on being elected as the 15th President of India, BJP Senapati District and Senapati District Women Association (SDWA) also organised a simple celebration with the BJP workers at SDWA hall on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, SDWA members opined that millions of people, especially those who have experienced poverty and hardship will derive great strength from her life.
Despite facing several odds, she marched on and became the first tribal woman President of the country, they said.
While heartily congratulating her, the members urged her to dispel the misconception that she will be reduced to a mere rubber stamp and to work for fulfilling the aspirations of billions of people.
"We sincerely hope that she will tirelessly work towards upliftment of the weaker sections of the society and her achievements will inspire many more among people to reach greatness," they mentioned.
The celebration was marked with cutting of cake led by SDWA president RN Hannah together with her colleagues in the presence of BJP Senapati District president Th Thaikho Peter and his party workers.
Denizens of Churachandpur town also expressed joy and congratulated Droupadi Murmu on becoming the first tribal woman President India by taking out a rally around the town.
The rally commenced from the residence of Churachandpur MLA LM Khaute and passed through Thangjam road, Tipaimukh road, IB Road, Red Cross road and
Tipaimukh road before it culminated at the starting point.
Denizens of the predominantly tribal inhabited district of Churachandpur, particularly workers of the JD (U) MLA LM Khaute who organised the rally, expressed unrestrained joy over Droupadi Murmu's overwhelming success.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA LM Khaute expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nominating Droupadi as the presidential candidate and added that he feels happy for his gracious gesture which eventually led to her election as the President of the country.
