Least vaccinated Kangpokpi tops daily TPR with 28.6pc
Manipur logs 79 new cases, no deaths

Even as Manipur logged 79 new Covid cases with an overall daily TPR of 8.4percent, least vaccinated Kangpokpi came out tops on the TPR table with 28.6 percent as 2 out of 7 samples tested there returned positive results.
The 79 new cases is a drop from the previous day of 89 cases but the single day test positivity rate continues to be a cause of concern as 11 out of the 16 districts in the State logged above 5 percent TPR in the last 24 hours.
No deaths were reported in the last 24 hours and the cumulative figure remains unchanged at 2124 .
The 79 new cases, all drawn from amongst the civilians were detected while testing at RIMS (16), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (60) .
The number of active cases is 644 including two Central security personnel.
With the addition of 79 more the cumulative number of infected persons in the State has risen to 1,38,389 including 5016 Central security personnel.
The people who tested positive are from Imphal East (23), Imphal West (34), Thoubal (5).Bishnupur (5), Kakching (3), Kangpokpi (2), Noney (2), Kamjong (1), Ukhrul (2) Tamenglong (1) and Chandel (1) .
Five districts had no new cases, including Churachandpur (16 tested), Jiribam (440 tested), Pherzawl (no test conducted), Senapati (21 tested) and Tengnoupal (3 tested) .
On the other hand 62 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,35,621 including 5007 Central security personnel.
The 62 persons were discharged form home isolation (52), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2), SHRI (5) and Chandel (0) .
The recovery rate is 98 percent.
Out of the 38 Covid beds at JNIMS 19 are occupied while at RIMS out of 62 Covid beds 41 are occupied.
On July 21 a total of 8842 vaccines were administered including 12,78,032 second dose and 1,66,063 precaution ary dose.
Overall 53.71 percent of the eligible population have received both dose of the vaccine while 62.12 percent have received the first shot.
On July 21, a total of 71 D Type oxygen cylinders and 1 B type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
