3rd International Pangal Convention held at Adampur

All Manipur Muslim Organisations Co-ordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) has asserted that a Pangal Research Institute will be established under the supervision of State CSOs to help unite scattered "Pangals' and revive the history of 'Pangal' community and their unique culture and identity.
This statement was made by SM Jalal, president, AMMOCOC during the 3rd International Pangal Convention held at the campus of GK Government Primary School, Adampur, Kandigaon in Bangladesh on Sunday, December 25 .
The event was organised by the Manipur Muslim (Pangal) Community of Bangladesh under the aegis of AMMOCOC.
Speaking on the occasion, SM Jalal shared that the international convention, which is held after a period of every 3 years, will be conducted in Assam next and the gap period will be shortened to 2 years.
Aside from this, the president stated that the Pangal community scattered all across the world will unite to address the problems faced by the community and work together in cooperation with other Manipuris to foster the bonds of brotherhood with other communities.
He further informed of plans to form an organisation, International Pangal Unity (IPU), which will include representatives from Bangladesh, Assam, Tripura and Myanmar to ensure smooth facilitation of the two-year International Pangal Convention.
The event was also attended by Alhaj Dr Mohd Abdus Shahid, MP, Bangladesh and significant personality from the Bangladesh Liberation war of 1971 as the chief guest; Professor Dr Anisuzzaman, Vice-Chancellor, Global University Dhaka; Professor Dr Mesbah Kamal, Vice-Chancellor, Bangladesh University Dhaka; Md Fajur Rahim, former MLA of Wabagai AC; Niraj Kumar Jaiswal, Assistant High Commissioner of India, Sylhet zone; Bilkis Begum, Upazilla Parishad, Karimganj; Dr Sheikh Raheijuddin, principal, Lilong Haoreibi College; SM Jalal, president AMMOCOC; Anuwari Nurjahan, president, UMMWDO and Md Abdul Matin, president, Manipuri Muslim (Pangal) Community of Bangladesh among others.
