Foundation day celebrated

The first foundation day celebration of the Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRCSRE) Imphal was held today at the Government Blind School, Takyelpat.
CRCSRE, Imphal is a unit functioning under the aegis of Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research, Cuttack.
Addressing the programme as the chief guest, Social Welfare Director, Ng Uttam said that the Centre has been providing numerous benefits to the differently abled persons.
Considering the benefits provided by the Centre for the upliftment of the differently abled persons in the State, he said that the Social Welfare Department is planning to continue to provide a building for the Centre in Takyelpat without charging any rent.
Stating that there is lack of awareness among the masses regarding the benefits provided by the Centre which is under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, he appealed to all concerned to take up measures to raise mass awareness in coming days in collaboration with Rehabilitation Centres opened under Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme.
The programme was also attended by Social Welfare Department Joint Director, Bantee Singh Konthoujam; Social Welfare Deputy Director L Dhaneshwor and Head of Department of PT Unit PMR, RIMS Pangambam Lolito Singh as the presidium members.
