Rescued wild animals released

A team of Forest officials and volunteers of Unique Wildlife Committee and People for Animals (PFA) Manipur released two Bengal slow lorises to a safe habitat at Yairipok while one Indian giant flying squirrel has been handed over to Iroisemba Zoological Garden.
A press release issued by People for Animal Manipur said that that they took one Bengal slow loris from Khuga Battalion of Assam Rifles at Churachandpur which the security personnel rescued while the another slow loris was rescued by one Thokchom Micheal, a resident of Kakching Korshantabi, and the same was handed over to Kakching Range Officer Laishram Dinesh.
The two Bengal slow lorises have been released to a safe habitat at Yairipok under the guidance of Kakching DFO Lokendro.
Meanwhile, the Indian giant flying squirrel rescued by one Elangbam Surchandra was injured as it fell from a Mango tree.The squirrel has been handed over to Iroisemba Zoological Garden for treatment, said PFA.
