Imphal, November 17 2015:
The Jiribam District Demand Committte (JDDC) has announced its decision to resume its suspended indefinite economic blockade along Imphal-Jiribam road from Tuesday midnight.
The committe has launched the economic blockade to push its long-pending demand to declare Jiribam as a full-fledged revenue district.
In a statement, JDDC said that the strike was suspended at 6 am of November 9 in view of Ningol Chakkouba.
It said that the committee alongwith all the communities of Jiribam and civil societies including local clubs has decided to resume the agitation.
The committee said that people of Jiribam are unhappy with the State Government's negligence over their repeated demand.
Sidelining the issue by the State Government for a long time without reasonable grounds has infuriated the people of Jiribam.
The people have now lost faith in the State Government as they have been disappointed time and again, the committee added.
