Chandel, November 17 2015:
Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) has sought State Government's immediate intervention on the plight of the people on the non-availability of drinking water supply in the District Headquarters.
In statement, CNPO said that the responsible PHED Chandel had already been informed about the crisis through its officials.
The organisation expressed dismay as the responsible department has turn to a blind eye to the woes of the general public.
CNPO appealed the Executive Engineer of PHED Chandel division to attend the office within November 16 to 21 to discuss the present scenario face by the general public and demanded an explanation from the department.
CNPO warned that "If the appeal is not heard within the stipulated date, the organisation will take its own course of action and the PHED will be held responsible for any untoward incidents.
It may be mentioned here that the pipelines installed in the Phumji Lok was washed away by recent flood.
The organisation also alleged that many PHED tankers were making money out of the water scarcity crisis.
