CS flags off Indian delegation team

Imphal, November 17 2015:
An Indian delegation team, who will attend at the 2015 BCIM Economic Corridor Development Forum from November 23 to 25 at Chengdu of China, was flagged off on Tuesday by Chief Secretary O Nabakishore from Old Secretariat.
The Forum will be held with an aim to bring close relations between Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar in the field of trade and commerce.
Chief Secretary O Nabakishore said that the four Asian countries namely Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar have formed a Sub-Economic Region with an aim to extend economic co-operations among the nations.
The Indian delegation team will first reach Mandalay of Myanmar, the last Royal capital of the country, and will head towards Muse, a small town on the Sino-Myanmar border.
The delegation will enter China through the Muse-Ruili border point and will travel all the way to the city of Baoshan in the Yunan province.
The delegation will explore trade, business and investment and joint venture opportunities with their counter parts in Baoshan and will meet businessmen and government officials of the Baoshan prefecture.
The initiative is said to be a part of the ongoing co-operation between the cities of Guwahati and Baoshan for the last one year.
The theme of the forum for this year will be "Strengthen the co-operation of intercity economy and trade, promote the prosperity of the BCIM Economic Corridor" .
