Arms recovered in Patsoi; 3 detained with liquor in Langdum

Imphal, August 09 2026: A combined team of Imphal West Commando, Patsoi Police Station and a column of 33 Assam Rifles conducted a search operation at Khoirum Sabal under Patsoi-PS on Aug 9, 2026, during which arms and ammunition were recovered.

The recovery included 8 SBBL guns, one 9mm pistol along with magazine, one Anti-Riot Gun, three No 36 HE grenades without detonator, one WP grenade, six empty magazines of different weapons (SLR, INSAS, .303), 86 assorted ammunition, six Anti-Riot shells, one vehicular set and two hand-held sets, police said.

In another incident, during frisking and checking at Langdum Lamkhai under Irilbung-PS today, CDO Imphal East detained three persons involved in illegal transportation and supply of local liquor.

The detained persons have been identified as Yumkhaibam Jeenan Singh alias Mekola (28), Yumkhaibam Sunil Singh alias Naotomba (23) and Chingakham Romeo Singh (23) .

Police seized 810 litres of local liquor and three cars from their possession.
