Imphal, November 17 2015:
Manipur People's Party President N Sobhakiran on Monday slammed the Manipur Government stating that Kangla, which is a living testimony to over 2000 years old history, has become a godown/store house of Manipur State Power Corporation Ltd (MSPCL) under the Congress led Manipur Government.
He was speaking at a press meet held at MPP office.
The MPP President said that Manipur Government has stored many electricity related materials in the northern and southern part of Kangla.
MSPCL employees are attending office in Kangla like as if it is their office and many non-local labourers have been employed on daily basis.
Kangla has turned into a godown for transformers, insulators, electric poles, cable wires and other electricity materials and people should punish the Congress led Manipur Government in the coming bye-elections to the Thongju and Thangmeiband A/Cs, alleged Sobhakiran.
The MPP President further said that renovation work at Kangla started only for the Sangai Festival which has been scheduled to begin from November 21.But when the outsiders visit Kangla, they will be shocked to see the real picture of the age-old heritage site.
Sobhakiran also accused the Congress Government for trying to cover up all its inefficiencies by decorating the exterior part of Kangla.
