KPC, SAI-SAG emerge men's, women's overall champions

The 18th, 19th and 20th Senior State Level Weightlifting Champion-ships, organised by the Khaidem Leikai Young Development Club (KLYDC), Wangoi under the aegis of Manipur Weightlifting Asso-ciation (MWA) concluded today with KPC, Hiyangthang and SAI-SAG, Imphal emerging the overall team champion in the men and women categories respectively at Wangoi Mamang Khaidem Leikai.
The closing ceremony of the championships was graced by Wangoi AC Social Worker M Thoiba Singh, PWD Chief Engineer M Lokendro Singh, Manipur Olympic Association secretary Sunil Elangbam, Wangoi Municipal Council chairperson Kh (O) Bala Devi and Manipur Archery Association secretary GA Ibopishak as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Men's overall team champion KPC, Hiyangthang secured 112 points to top the table while SAI-SAG, Imphal scored 109 points to bag the runner-up title.
In the women's event, SAI-SAG, Imphal scored 112 points to emerge the overall champion while NSA -106 points settled for the runner's-up title.
Ch Rishikanta Singh (NSA) with 358.86 points and M Purnima Chanu (SAI-SAG) with 245.05 points respectively were named the best men's and women's lifter.
The said winners were awarded trophies and cash prizes at the end of the function.
In today's final day of the championship, P Ganga Devi (KPC) - 142 kg, H Jinarani (YPIS) - 135 kg and Feroja Sahani (YFU) - 75 kg respectively won the first, second and third position in the junior girls' 48 kg event.
In the junior girls' 53rd kg group, M Purnima Chanu (SAI-SAG) - 173 kg claimed the title while S Ronibala (MHGAG) - 107 kg bagged the runner's up title.
In the junior girls' 58 kg event, Y Shilheinganbi (SAI-SAG) - 155 kg, Y Khomdonbi Chanu (YPIS) - 150 kg and P Shakhenbi (YPIS) - 125 kg lifted the first, second and third placed title respectively.
In the junior girls' 63rd kg, K Roshila (SAI-SAG) - 153 kg, RK Ningtipown (KAY&CO) - 135 kg, and K Bela won the first, second and third position respectively.
W Malenganbi (KLYDC) - 85 kg clinched the junior girls' 49 kg title.
In the 56 kg senior men event, Ch Rishikanta (NSA) lifted 230 (100+130) kg to clinch the title while L Paikhomba (YPIS) - 212 kg and Kh Santosh (KLYDC) - 180 kg respectively clinched the 62 kg and 77 kg senior men's titles.
In the senior women's group, P Ranjiba (NSA) - 125 kg and Baby Loyna (NSA) - 110 kg won the first and second place titles of the 53 kg event.
In the 58 kg senior women's event, N Sumanbala (KAY&CO) - 180 kg clinched the title while K Humeshwori (KPC) - 140 kg and O Sheila (NGKSA) - 122 kg bagged the second and third placed title respectively.
In the 69 kg senior women's event, Kh Sarjubala (KLYDC) lifted 185 (80+ 105) kg to claim the title while Ksh Premeshwori (BYC) - 114 kg won the runner's-up title.
And in the last event, Y Omika (ACWA) - 166 kg clinched the 75 kg senior women's title.
