MTFT beat KUFC to lift 2nd Chandel DC Cup 2015

Chandel, November 17 2015:
Manipur Terriers Football Team (MTFT) lifted the 2nd Chandel DC Cup 2015 after defeating Ksenpa United Football Club (KUFC) in the tie break.
The closing function of the tournament hosted by Lamphoupasna Youth Club was graced by Chandel DC Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) president WS Kanral Anal and Chandel SP N Herojit Meetei as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
All Manipur Football Association Executive Member ST Ronel also attended the function as a special invited guest.

In the final match played yesterday at Maha Union Higher Secondary School's Ground in Chandel District Head Quarters, MTFT registered a narrow 6-5 victory over KUFC via penalty shootout after both sides were held to a 3-3 draw in normal time.
The match began with KUFC taking the lead after Thangtinlen Haokip and Bungthot scored a goal each in 20th and 34th minute respectively.
On the other hand, Mataimo drew the first blood for MTFT in the 26th minute.
The first half ended with KUFC taking a 1-0 lead.
Soon after the lemon break, MTFT witnessed their equaliser in the 54th minute through Lalroutfel.
Minutes later, Angkhul slotted in the third goal of MTFT in the 64th minute making the scoreline 3-2 against KUFC.
However, the match ended 3-3 after Thangtinlen Haokip of KUFC netted in the equaliser in the 76th minute.
In the penalty shootout, MTFT defeated KUFC 6-5 after two players of KUFC failed to find the target Champions Manipur Terriers Football Team went home richer with a cash prize of Rs 65,000 and runner up Ksenpa United FC received a cash prize of Rs 40,000 .
Meanwhile, the two semi finalists, Kathumpam FC and Kings Eleven, Chandel were awarded a cash prize of Rs 10, 000 each.
Ibungcha of MTFT, Db Angpol and Thangtinlen Haokip (9 goals) of KUFC were named the best goal keeper, best player and top scorer of the tournament while Kings Eleven, Chandel bagged the best team title.
The said winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 3000 each.
